Nearly 4000 Air Australia customers were left holding their tickets when CEO and owner Michael James shut the doors on his company without notice at midnight last night. Undeniably upset, travelers demanded answers as to why they were left in the dark by their travel agents, the aviation industry and the air insurance companies, who just last week withdrew insolvency coverage for passengers of Air Australia. Stranded passengers, scrambled to book return flights on other airlines, but remains to be seen how many, if any, will get refunds.
